Crunchyroll to screen Makoto Shinkai’s works next weekend

Crunchyroll have announced that between Friday 9th and Sunday 11th March they will be adding three of Makoto Shinkai’s works to their lineup in an event being dubbed “Global Shinkai Day”.

As was the case this time last year – where they also screened three works of Makoto Shinkai – users will be able to view 5 Centimeters Per Second, Voices Of A Distant Star and Place Promised in Our Early Days in their entirety.

All the titles will be available to stream with Japanese audio and English subtitles but there is a chance (though not confirmed at this time) that one or more of the titles be available with to view with the English audio – as was the case last year with 5 Centimeters Per Second.

For those unaware Crunchyroll were involved in the US DVD release of 5 Centimeters Per Second. This likely being a factor in why they have been able to screen a dubbed version of it on their site in the past.

Head over to Crunchyroll next weekend and enjoy some of the great works of Makoto Shinkai.
