Crunchyroll have been very busy these last few days revealing more additions to their already loaded lineup for the new spring season. (See our previous story on the first wave of titles added HERE.)
The four new titles revealed are
- Naruto spin-off: Rock Lee & His Ninja Pals
- You and Me 2
- Saint Seiya Omega
Below you can details on each title and when they will be available for streaming.
Naruto spin-off: Rock Lee & His Ninja Pals
“Watch out! This is a new addition to the iconic NARUTO franchise which represents Japanese animation. Ideal for those who are looking to stay a moment away from the breathtaking battle scenes and the serious ninja rivalry, the spin-off series offers an alternative Naruto world with all characters super-deformed and comically retouched.
A spotlight is cast on Rock Lee, the prank-loving imperfect ninja kid who scores low with ninja techniques but who never gives up to achieve his goals. Comical happenings in the ninja village in NARUTO SPIN-OFF: ROCK LEE & HIS NINJA PALS are sure to attract a new generation of fans.”
New episodes will be available to stream every Tuesday at 10.30 am GMT with episode available to view now HERE.
You and Me 2
Following on from the first season of the program, available to view at Crunchyroll HERE, You and Me returns for it’s second outing continuing to follow the group of childhood friends. “Friends since kindergarten and seemingly like blood brothers, YOU AND ME. follows the lives of Yuta and Yuki Asaba, Shun Matsuoka and Kaname Tsukahara; as well as transfer student Chizuru Tachibana who joins the circle of friends. Together we will watch as they laugh, dance, cry and share the memories of growing up together in everyday life.”
The first episode of season two is available to view HERE with new a episode being available every Monday at 6pm GMT.
“Yurumate3Dei follows Yurume, an 18-year-old high school graduate who has yet to be accepted into college. In an effort to study for exams, she moves to Maison du Wish, an apartment complex on the outskirts of Tokyo which is full of other out-of-school “rōnin.” Maybe that has something to do with the rumor about Maison du Wish: no one who lives there passes the entrance exam.”
The series begins streaming this coming Friday (6th April) at 6.30pm GMT with a new episode available every Friday at the same time thereafter.
Saint Seiya Omega
“Saints are champions of hope who have always appeared since the Age of Myth whenever evil threatens the world. They would clad themselves in armor called Cloths, and fight to protect Athena, the goddess who rules the world’s surface. Seiya the Pegasus Saint has saved Athena many times, and while he and his friends are Bronze Saints, which is the lowest rank, their battles have been passed down as legend.
The god of war and guardian of his namesake planet, Mars, was once sealed away by Seiya, but time has passed and his revival is at hand. Meanwhile, Saori Kido (Athena) is raising the boy Kouga, whose life Seiya saved, and he’s been training every day to become a Saint in order to prepare for the coming crisis… Unaware of his destiny, when Kouga awakens to the power of his Cosmo hidden inside him, the curtain will rise upon the legend of a new Saint!”
The series is an original story set ten years in the future and is not related to the manga. It is being produced by Toei Animation and is being aimed at a younger audience. The launch date and time for Saint Seiya Omega has yet to be confirmed by Crunchyroll but will be streamed HERE once available.
Be on the look out for more streaming announcements by Crunchyroll in the come days.
On a related Anime On Demand have been fairly quite in the lead up to the spring season but have now given an indication we can expect news coming relating to their lineup soon. They tweeted “we’ll let people know about this season soon, sorry for the silence, our main tweeter has been on the road a lot of late!” We’ll be sure to bring any news from AOD when it becomes available.
